Dr. Rafik Riad
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
I am Dr. Rafik Riad, born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. I made the decision to be a dentist when I was 14 years old. I earned my first Doctorate from the prestigious Ain Shams University in Cairo in 2005 when I was 22. After graduating with honors, I practiced the art of dentistry in my hometown for several years and developed a strong passion for the art of dentistry.
As an eager learner and a firm believer in never-ending professional and personal development, in 2008, I became a co-founder of a continuous education institute for dentists, aiming to bring global knowledge and cutting-edge technology in dentistry to doctors in Egypt and Europe.
In 2010, I moved to the USA and decided to continue to pursue my dream and my passion for dentistry. I graduated from Loma Linda University in 2014. I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge since then, and my passion for dentistry and the art of changing people's lives by simply making them smile continues to grow.
Dr. Rakan Alzwaideh
Hello, I am Dr. Rakan Alzwaideh. I graduated from NYU College of Dentistry with a DDS degree in 2016. I then completed a one-year hospital residency at Lutheran Hospital in New York, during which my passion for endodontics was solidified. Afterward, I pursued a two-year Endodontic specialty program at NYU, graduating in 2019 as a chief resident.
After my training in New York City, I relocated to San Diego, CA, where I reside with my wife and dog. I enjoy the outdoors and being close to my family. Some of my hobbies are traveling, cooking, playing tennis, and of course, taking my golden retriever on long hikes.
I enjoy being with my patients, and I can promise you that you can expect a professional, efficient, and pain-free treatment that exceeds your expectations during your visit with me.
I encourage you to always ask me questions, and I will strive to educate you and explain the procedure step by step. My ultimate goal is to change the world's misconceptions behind root canal therapy, one patient at a time.
Dr. Hiba Zaku
Hello, I am Dr. Hiba Zaku. I was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. I immigrated to the US in 2007 and ever since then San Diego has been my home. I attended University of California, San Diego for my degree in Biochemistry and during that time I discovered my passion and love for dentistry. I went on to obtain my DMD degree from Roseman University. My career since the start has been nothing short of amazing. I love being a dentist because I can form long lasting relationships with my patients and I am able to provide patient centered care. I am able to treat people as a whole improving quality of the oral health and quality of life; in addition to providing comfort and care tailored to each patient’s needs. I am always researching for the most up to date science in dentistry, which enables me to not only utilize the latest technology, but to empower my patients with knowledge to improve their oral health and reduce their susceptibility oral cavity diseases. During weekends, I enjoy being with my family. My loving husband and I like to go on hikes or bike rides. We like to watch movies and spend quality time with our kitty cat if we are not outdoors.

My name is Cristina. I am the financial manager and treatment coordinator of the team. I have been working at Oak Tree since 2018. I grew up in Escondido, CA. What made me get into dentistry is that I wanted to be part of a team that helps people and get into a field where there is so much room for growth.
I like to spend it with my daughter and husband. We usually take her out when we are off from work to the park, the beach, the zoo, and all the fun places that kids would enjoy. I try to spend as much time as possible with her. Life passes in a blink of an eye.

My family and I have been a part of Oak Tree Dental for over 10 years now. My husband and I have two beautiful daughters that love to practice Jiu-Jitsu and visit me at work for their routine cleaning. My career started in 2007 as an assistant, where I found my passion for dentistry with our family dentist. I then moved to Oak Tree Dental in 2012 as a scheduling coordinator and absolutely fell in love with our patients and the community that surrounded the office. After 18 months of working in the front office, I realized how much I missed assisting. In 2021 I completed my RDAEF2 course receiving my license that same year. Now I get to deliver crowns and complete crown preps and fillings. I am diligent in providing excellent patient care and quality restorations while utilizing state-of-the-art technology. I have enjoyed seeing several of our kid patients become teenagers and have developed several friendships with others. The smiles I get from my patients and having such wonderful and fun coworkers keep me coming back to work every day.
